PRELUDE "Fugue in E Major" Bach
HYMN #3 "Come Thou Almighty King"
CALL TO WORSHIP and INVOCATION
|
It is time to give you thanks, O Lord; in fact, it is always time to offer my gratitude for both your simple and amazing gifts.
Help us to know how to regard your gift of time -- the time to live our lives for others, the time to learn how to live with the gifts of your creation.
Let us step out in a trust that can embrace mystery and a faith that can live with paradox.
Help us understand the difference between those moments that are filled with relationship and meaning, and those that are just sand pouring through the funnels of our everyday tasks.
Forgive me for time squandered and moments unappreciated.
Join us in our struggles to discern. Forgive us for times we have failed to seek you and times we have misunderstood how to enjoy the time of our lives. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, the Christ. Amen.

PARDON AND ASSURANCE

In Christ, know that you are forgiven and received without condition.
We receive the assurance of God's pardon for the sins of our actions and for actions not taken. |
